Borat Golden Globe Speech Text

Baron Cohen refers in his Borat Golden Globe speech to a naked wrestling scene in the film with his co-star Ken Davitian:

I just wanna say, this movie was a life-changing experience. I saw some amazing, beautiful and vigorating parts of America.

But I saw some dark parts of America, an ugly side of America, a side of America that rarely sees the light of day. I refer, of course, to the anus and testicles of my co-star, Ken Davitian.

(laughter and applause)

(addressing Davitian, who replies by lifting up his glass of wine)

When I was in that scene, and I stared down and saw your two wrinkled Golden Globes on my chin ...

(laughter)

...I thought to myself, I'd better win a bloody award for this!

(laughter and applause)

And then when my 300-pound co-star decided to sit on my face and squeeze the oxygen from my lungs, I was faced with a choice. Death, or to breathe in the air that had been trapped in a small pocket between his buttocks for 30 years!

(laughter again)

Kenneth, if it was not for that rancid bubble, I would not be here today!

(laughter and applause)

Thank you!

(Now Baron Cohen quickly list some names he worked with - just like the way we use transition sentences - to signal the funny end of his Borat Golden Globe speech, the pay-off joke)

And thank you to every American who has not sued me so far. Thank you!

And of course he got a thunderous applause from the audience in the theater. What else can you expect? But, not everyone like these satirical speech topics.

Many of the hundreds of millions of viewers in the more than 150 countries all over the world where the show was broadcasted live, called the Borat acceptance speech a really hilarious, but very close to the knuckle public speaking speech performance.

However, Sasha really stealed the show during the ceremony, with what became famous worldwide on the internet:
